At obobobu, we make soap the traditional way — slowly, gently, and with purpose. Cold process soap is more than just a way to cleanse; it’s a return to craftsmanship and thoughtful care for your skin.

Unlike mass-produced soaps that rely on high heat and quick manufacturing, cold process soap is made through a slower, low-temperature method. This careful process preserves the natural benefits of our ingredients — nourishing oils, botanical extracts, and 100% essential oils — without adding harsh chemicals or synthetic detergents.

But patience is key. Each bar takes 4 to 6 weeks to cure naturally. This allows the soap to harden, mellow, and become milder on your skin. The result? A gentle, nourishing bar that respects both your skin and the planet.

Every obobobu soap bar starts with almost 70% premium oils and butters — like olive oil and shea butter — chosen for their ability to hydrate, soothe, and protect. These oils are blended with an alkaline solution (lye) in a process called saponification. During this transformation, oils and lye become soap, and glycerin is naturally created as a by-product.

Glycerin is a powerful humectant that helps draw moisture into your skin. In every obobobu bar, it stays right where it belongs — in the soap — giving you a luxurious, creamy lather that leaves your skin soft and replenished.

Because cold process soap is made without high heat or harsh additives, the natural properties of each ingredient are retained. That means your skin gets all the nourishment, without any of the stripping or drying effects of conventional soaps.
